Prayed For Two Women

One woman came in for food, a single mother with a 3 year old and one on the way. She was staying in a B&B and had no family members she was in contact with, for various reasosns. She used to attend church but had fallen away. We prayed for her and our supervisor told her “I believe God is saying to you “Make Me your Rock””. I reminded her of the wisdom of the man who built his house upon the rock, compared with the foolish one who built his house on sand. rock foundation

As she left I gave her a Luke’s Gospel as she had mislaid her own Bible due to moving around recently.

The other woman had lots of healed horizontal scars on her left arm and lots more on her neck where she clearly had been cutting herself with a blade of some kind. She said she gave up drugs 4 years ago, but now used alcohol instead and frequently got hammered. She had no faith, but agreed we could pray with her. Before she left I gave her a booklet “The Meaning Of Easter”.

The next person in was a 17 year old girl. She said she was suffering from panic attacks and hated enclosed spaces. She also suffered “sociophobia” whereby she hated meeting people, especially for the first time. We said she seemed to be managing OK with us. She replied she was keeping going by texting her friend for support while she sat there waiting for her food. One of her aunts was a JW and she had pushed the Bible at her. As a result she wasn’t interested in talking about God or prayer. Interestingly, as she left she said she might come back for a social visit.
