He Bought a Nylon Rope To Hang Himself

August 14, 2016

rope in a noose for hanging   He told me he is an ex-soldier and 3rd Dan martial arts practitioner. A very serious accident some years back had left him in constant pain, with little money and nothing to live for. I offered to pray “hands-on” for his healing from the pain but he wasn’t keen on this at all.

Life was so bad he decided one day to buy a length of nylon rope and set it up to hang himself, but his plan failed when the rope came loose.

He has an ability to see things that will happen to people and told me of many examples where prophecies he had given people had come true, exactly as he foretold. He didn’t like to use this gift unless he was pressurised to do so. I had no intention of asking him.

I told him I had something to tell to him about HIS future. The Bible says he will stand before God one day and be judged: “It is appointed for man once to die and after that the Judgment”. He wouldn’t accept this. He maintained he would be reincarnated and come back as a “helper” to assist others to find the way. He reckoned he seen seen a future for him surrounded by angels and meeting those he loved and having a happy time. One question I asked him he refused to answer, namely:”what is the pass mark for Heaven?”

He told me that he some debt counselling from a Christian man, who had then prayed for him.

Before he left he promised me that he would not try to end his life again. I told him God loved him, and that there is always hope in God. He needed to turn to God to mend his relationship with Him before it was too late. I gave him a card which quoted the words of Jesus:”wide is the road that leads to destruction and many travel on it. Narrow is the way that leads to life and there are few that find it”.

I Asked God To Use Me – And He Did

November 20, 2015

God Please Use Me  On the way into work I again asked God to use me, that it might be His Spirit at work – “thy will be done” – and not me striving in my own strength to accomplish things.

During my volunteer duty, in the background I heard a client say they had a leg problem. It turned out to be a lad of about 18, who had suffered problems with his left knee for about 4 years. The medics had not been able to cure his condition to date. I told him I’d seen lots of knee problems healed, and asked if he wanted me to pray for him. He was happy to give it a go, so I told him Jesus was the one who healed. I asked if he knew about Jesus of the Bible. He said he had been a Christian when younger, but had drifted away.

I laid hands on the knee, saying:”Father I thank you for Jesus. Jesus I thank you that you are the one who heals, and that you love this man and are drawing him back to yourself.” I spoke out healing, commanding the muscles, ligaments, tendons, joints and nerves to be healed in Jesus’ name. I spoke life and strength to the knee in Jesus’ name. Afterwards I asked him how the knee was. He checked it out and reported: “No change, it’s exactly the same.”

From experience I’ve learned that you keep on pressing in until results start coming. This of course is dependent on the person being agreeable to you continuing. I illustrated this to the guy: “suppose you had an infection, went to the doctor and he gave you tablets to take, two a day for fourteen days. If you took two the first day and threw the rest away, that would be silly, wouldn’t it?” He agreed that would be pointless. I said: “praying for healing is similar; you keep on going with the treatment then you will see results”.

I prayed again, in a similar vein as before. This time I was aware of the Holy Spirit flowing in me in a fairly powerful way. I mention this because many times I pray and see people healed but feel nothing myself while it’s going on. I asked him for an update. He said he could feel something moving down his leg, plus a tingling feeling. I told him that was God at work. I could feel the power flowing for a couple of minutes and he could too. I then asked him to check it out. He walked up and down and reported a significant improvement. I laid hands on him one more time. He reckoned the leg was a good 40% better at the end.

lost sheep found by Jesus  I then told him the parable of Jesus where the shepherd left the 99 sheep on the hillside to go after the one that was lost. I said: “you’re the lost sheep, and God knew you’d be coming here today, so he planned this encounter to draw you back to Himself” He agreed that seemed quite a likely possibility. I gave him my card and asked him to let me know how he got on. I also gave him the gospel tract “No Satisfaction”.

Healing Offered At Church

May 17, 2015

After the church service I came across a man with crutches. He had his foot smashed in an accident some years back and it caused him all sorts of trouble, including numbness and pain further up the leg and thigh area.

I offered healing in Jesus’ name and he was agreeable. I laid hands on his ankle area at his suggestion. After the first session of a minute or so, I asked him how it was. He said he was getting some feeling back into the nerves in the foot. He agreed that was a good sign. I prayed again, commanding healing in Jesus’ name again and for the pain to go. I asked for another update. He said “it feels like my foot is going to explode!” I said: “is that a good sign?” He answered: “I think it is.” His foot was in a soft cast support, with velcro fastenings. I suggested he loosened the straps to allow things to happen. I also suggested he keep thanking Jesus for the rest of the day.   We then had coffee and a doughnut.

Feeding The Hungry At Christmas

December 22, 2012

Yesterday was my last day in before Christmas and we were inundated with food donations coming in and clients taking it away.  For three hours we were constantly busy. The downside was that we didn’t have much time to chat to clients.

I noticed one woman pick up a gospel tract and place it in her handbag. She also started to read our framed poems on the walls, such as “Footprints”. I engaged her in conversation and sussed out that she had issues in her life. I suggested she might like prayer when we were quiet and she said “yes”. Unfortunately, we never were quiet and she left with her partner taking her food but without any prayer. Hope she comes back again when we’re quiet, after Christmas. We don’t have any separate room to take people for prayer as our premises are so small. Must discuss this with the manager sometime soon.

black glove photo  Another client was a guy who shook hands with his left hand as his right, in a black glove, was evidently useless. He told me he’d had 13 operations on it so far, and he still had practically no use of it. I offered to pray for healing and he agreed, ‘tho’ admitting he didn’t believe in God. I said that’s OK. I laid hands on him for a while, then another team member joined me and prayed too. I told the guy to test his hand out, doing something he couldn’t normally do. He did, but said “no change”. He said he felt heat when I laid hands on him. I said to him I had often prayed for people where no change seemed to happen at the time. Later, when I saw them again, some reported that healing had occurred. I explained that God’s healing power can carry on working after the event, so thank God for what he’s doing.
