Jesus At Work – Still Healing

July 26, 2014

shoulder and neck pain image  While I was doing my voluntary work on Friday, two ladies on the team asked me to pray for them. Both were suffering from pain in the shoulder/neck area.

I prayed for the first lady three times. After the first time she felt some improvement, so that encouraged us both to pray again. The second time it was better still and after the third she said she was pain free.

Shortly afterwards, the other lady – who had  seen us praying – asked for healing for herself. We prayed a couple of times and she felt some imrprovement. The next day she sent me a text message to let me know that the healing had continued for the rest of the day until bedtime. Jesus is Go(o)d!

Today a team of us we went on the streets offering healing. I wore my “Do You Need Healing?” t-shirt. I had several good conversations, talking about Jesus with folks. One lady attended a Spiritualist church in a town nearby. I gave her a card from an ex-Spiritualist Facebook friend of mine in Scotland, Laura Maxwell, giving details of her web address.  Spiritualism

Two Offers of Healing – One Accepted, One Rejected

September 20, 2013

viral meningitis book  While volunteering today, a woman client told me she’d had viral meningitis, followed by an injection in the spine. She was still in pain days after the injection, so I offered healing. Two of us laid hands on her. Afterwards she said she felt heat and a tingling feeling all over her body, and the pain had lessened. I told her that was the Spirit of God – the Holy Spirit – touching her. She also said she’d previously been taken to a Spiritualist church for healing, but nothing had happened. She said “it felt a dark place” and I explained to her why it was a dark place. She then told me she felt she wanted to find her way in life, so I gave her a Luke’s Gospel and invited her to take it home and read it. She left with a “thank you very much”.

Shortly afterwards a Christian man involved in our outreach work to the needy came in, clearly in pain as he was limping badly. He told me what the diagnosis was and how it would take a while to recover. I told him we’d just prayed for a woman for healing and invited him to receive also. He just smiled and left it at that, despite remaining with our team for the next couple of hours.

Sadly, the church largely fails to teach on healing, so the devil has a field day offering counterfeit healing thought Spiritualism. Meanwhile, Christians don’t know what to believe on the subject since it’s ignored by most church leaders. Didn’t Jesus command his followers to “teach everything I have commanded you” to those that followed on? Jesus taught the 12 and 70 to preach the kingdom and heal the sick. If we’re to be obedient to Jesus we need to obey His commands.

Test The Spirits – Part Two

August 23, 2013

test the spirits   In an earlier post I recounted  a meeting with a guy who attends Spiritualist meetings and my challenge to him.  This is the post: https://jesushealstoday99.wordpress.com/2013/06/07/challenge-to-test-the-spirits-given-to-a-guy-in-a-wheelchair/

Today he returned again for food, and while his bags were being prepared he beckoned me outside for a private chat. He reminded me of our conversation and my challenge to him to “test the spirits” next time he went to the Spiritualist Church. I had asked him to challenge them by asking (as the Apostle John says in scripture) “did Jesus Christ come in the flesh?” He told me he did ask them, so I was eagerly awaiting his next comment!

As I expected, and had warned him in advance, they did not give him a straight “yes” or “no” answer. He was fobbed off with a: “Christians can’t prove that Jesus was who he said he was.” I pointed out to my friend that this reply proved that the “Jesus” they talked of at his church was not the Jesus of the Bible.

My friend pointed out that every time he mentioned to Christians that he went to the Spiritualist church they looked and sounded alarmed. I explained “that was because you are being deceived and Christians are concerned for your eternal destiny.”

He had often gone to the Spiritualist church after having problems with his girlfriend and he acknowledged he got comfort from what they told him. They even said “we can see you up there on the platform doing this in years to come.”

He simply wasn’t hearing my warnings about the dangers. I then told hm the Bible warned against contact with the dead. This was new to him. He didn’t have a Bible, so I said I would write to him and give him the relevant verses from the Bible so he could read it for himself. I pray that the Lord will open his eyes!
